Crum Hum from Nyström is a 3-voice experimental and expressive soundscaping instrument designed for generative and ever-evolving melodic and harmonic creation.

This is a perfect tonal partner to the previous percussion based Crum Drum release from Nyström.

The Crum Hum features 12 sound engines which range from simple sawtooth and square waves with lowpass filtering, to various wavetable and FM engines and more complex setups like bass, chords, and melody. There are also 12 different built-in scales to play with.

Each of the three voices has a triangular touchpad that lets you control the timbre and volume simultaneously. Each voice also offers a Frequency knob for setting the lowest possible note, as well as a Random knob that sets the probability of notes being played for each clock pulse.

The Threetom Modular MIXING FLASK is a utility mixer offering mix-bus limiting and a cornucopia of indicator lights integrated behind a unique chemical lab-inspired front panel. Buy it now from Thonk, link in bio!

MIXING FLASK was designed as a solution to three main gripes when it comes to conventional utility mixers:

- Mixing too hot is too easy, leading to hard clipping on the mix-bus. And even when there’s an indicator light to warn you when this is happening, there are no features to actively prevent it.
- Utility mixers usually only offer unity gain, so when you have a weak input signal, you’re out of luck
- They’re nauseatingly boring!

Provides solutions to these annoyances in the following ways:

- By implementing a soft-clipping limiting circuit on the mix-bus (inspired by DOPPIO). The highest setting prevents the mix-bus from hard clipping altogether in favour of warm saturation.
- All inputs have a gain of +6dB allowing you to better equalize between volumes while maintaining a hot mix-bus output
- The myriad of indicator lights and front-panel graphics make you feel like a mad scientist in your own modular chemical lab. We bet you won’t find another utility mixer that makes mixing more exciting than MIXING FLASK!

As we posted on our mailing list yesterday, we’re splitting our November price savings into two events.

This week we have set up the first event, live discounts on all our loose DIY parts, so if loose parts are your main interest then right now is the right time to get an order shipped.

Next week we’ll launch our second event with deals on a wide range of full kits and the other products we sell. We’ll tell mailing list members first when it’s live. The full kit deals won’t be announced until next week, once we know what stock is left. Orders cannot be combined to save on shipping.

We have a small batch of DIY kits of Solid Felt, a desktop stereo analog filter with onboard modulation from Herbs and Stones.

From subtle timbral variation to an all-encompassing sonic treatment, Solid Felt can be used in multiple ways to embellish or vandalize your sound bouquet.

Its patchable design allows the analog filters to be used in stereo, dual mono, or a number of other experimental applications. The two filters, A and B, can operate in lowpass, bandpass, or highpass modes, and both filters feature resonance for squelchy sweeps or pinged self-oscillation purposes. Both cutoff frequency and filter mode can be CV controlled, either by self-patching using the onboard modulators or via external CV signals from eg. Eurorack modular.

4TRG has 4 independent Random Gate skippers with probability knob per channel. The First channel can turn into a Clock generator when no cable is inserted into the Gate input. The Output is then Normalized to the other channels (2-4). It can also create “ratcheting” gates. The knob determines the Ratcheting speed.

4DECAY offers 4 Envelopes for percussive and plucky sounds. The Gate inputs are normalised to the Jack below, which lets you use the same Gate signal for 2, 3 or all 4 channels at the same time.
